Project Lead Jonathan Woodyard Named ONEIL Employee-Owner of the Quarter

Jonathon Woodyard Employee of the Quarter

ONEIL is proud to recognize Jonathan Woodyard, Project Lead, as our latest Employee-Owner of the Quarter. Since joining ONEIL in August 2009 as a Technical Writer, Jonathan has consistently demonstrated professionalism, technical expertise, and strong leadership. We are proud to present Jonathan with the Q1 2025 award.

Bringing a solid foundation in mechanical systems, Jonathan quickly made an impact developing technical manuals across numerous complex projects. His calm demeanor, precision, and customer focus have earned the trust of both colleagues and clients over the past 15 years.

Promoted to Project Lead in December 2023, Jonathan took on a challenging $3M+ contract with a new defense customer. With over 50 deliverables spanning three subsystems—and stepping in for a previous supplier who had fallen behind—Jonathan led the team to deliver all required content within the first three months. His leadership not only kept the project on track but also helped rebuild the customer’s confidence in the program.

Shortly after, Jonathan was tapped to lead a new project with a long-sought industrial equipment customer. He quickly established a strong working relationship and successfully met all early milestones, —laying the groundwork for future collaboration.

Jonathan embodies the qualities of an outstanding employee, making him truly deserving of the EOQ honor.

Congratulations, Jonathan, on this well-deserved recognition!

Briefly share your career trajectory and what originally brought you to ONEIL.
After graduating high school in 2000, I decided I wanted to pursue a career as an automotive technician. Having grown up turning wrenches with my dad, it was something I loved doing. I took courses in Modern Automotive Technology and acquired ASE certifications during this time. After nearly 10 years of being in the automotive field professionally, I was simply burned out. That’s when I heard about ONEIL hiring technical writers with an emphasis on mechanical knowledge through a friend of a friend. I applied, and the rest is history.

What do you enjoy most about your work at ONEIL?
I would say constantly learning is what I enjoy most. Stepping into the role of Project Lead has required me to collaborate more with other departments that I hadn’t previously worked with, which has greatly expanded my understanding. Learning to manage projects and everything that goes into them has also been a major growth opportunity. In addition, I enjoy working with our customers to support their projects, build their confidence in both myself and ONEIL, and ensure they are highly satisfied with our products.

What motivates you to go above and beyond in your role?
It really comes down to accountability. I’ve been hired to do a job, and I expect nothing less from myself. To underperform would be an embarrassment, and that is not something I can accept.
