ONEIL at AUSA 2026: Powering “The Foundation of the Joint Force” with the ONeSOURCE S1000D IETP Viewer
This October, ONEIL is back at the AUSA 2026 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C., October 12–14 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Booth 505. This year’s theme, “America’s Army: The Foundation of the Joint Force,” is all about Army transformation and readiness across a complex, multi-domain battlefield. That’s the exact problem our ONeSOURCE S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP) Viewer was built to solve.
Readiness Starts With Information Technicians Can Trust
A joint force only works as well as the technical information behind it. Every service branch, platform, and maintainer needs accurate, accessible data to keep equipment mission-ready, whether that’s a ground vehicle at a forward operating base or an aircraft on a flight line far from the nearest depot. The ONeSOURCE S1000D IETP Viewer is a centralized, standards-based platform that lets technicians navigate technical manuals, find critical information, and get the job done, regardless of service, platform, or environment.
Key features:
- Intuitive Navigation & Search: Find procedures, parts data, and schematics without digging through endless documents.
- Enterprise Integration: Built-in connectors that fit into the maintenance and logistics systems programs are already using. This is an area we’ve kept expanding over the past year.
- Mission-Ready Flexibility: Works online or offline, so support doesn’t stop in disconnected or field environments.
- Secure & Compliant: Role-based access controls that adhere to S1000D standards, supporting interoperability across services and coalition partners.
- Rapid Communications: Push emergency updates or operational supplements out to teams in the field quickly.
A Year of Progress: Checking In With Mike Ellis
Last year at AUSA, we talked with Mike Ellis, Senior Program Manager at ONEIL, about the thinking behind the ONeSOURCE S1000D IETP Viewer. Heading back to Washington, D.C. for AUSA 2026, we sat down with him again to see what’s changed, and how it connects to this year’s theme of joint force readiness.
Q: Last year, you told us you were focused on making it easier to connect with maintenance management systems and helping technicians find information faster. What’s changed since then?
Mike Ellis: We’ve made good progress on both. We’ve kept building out our integration connectors so the viewer fits into the systems maintainers are already using instead of asking them to learn something new. On the search side, we’ve kept working on cutting down the time between “I have a problem” and “here’s the procedure.” That’s time saved on every job, and it adds up fast across a whole fleet.
Q: This year’s AUSA theme is “America’s Army: The Foundation of the Joint Force.” How does the viewer support that idea of a joint, interoperable force?
Mike Ellis: Interoperability is really the point of S1000D as a standard. Data gets structured the same way no matter which service or program created it. The ONeSOURCE viewer takes that further by giving every maintainer, on every platform, the same way of getting to that data. Whether you’re working on an Army ground system or supporting a joint logistics mission, you shouldn’t have to relearn a new tool each time. That’s a big part of what actually makes a joint force work together, not just in a slide deck.
Q: What advice do you have for programs looking at their technical documentation strategy this year?
Mike Ellis: Honestly, same advice as always, it just matters more each year. Figure out what’s actually slowing your technicians down. Put real money into training so people know how to use the system you’re giving them. And stop treating this as “manuals” and start treating it as one source of truth for the program. Get that right and you’re supporting mission readiness, not just publishing paperwork.
Real-World Success Stories
The ONeSOURCE S1000D IETP Viewer keeps delivering results across defense programs:
- U.S. Air Force KC-46 Division: ONEIL’s solution cleared out vendor gridlock, letting the Air Force take direct ownership of technical manuals for organic sustainment.
- U.S. Air Force MQ-9 Fleet: A streamlined software solution cut staff hours and operational costs while improving data accuracy and accessibility.
- Broader Applications: Beyond these programs, the viewer supports commercial and defense clients of all sizes.
See It in Action at AUSA 2026
We’ll be running live demos of the ONeSOURCE S1000D IETP Viewer at Booth 505 during AUSA 2026 in Washington, D.C., October 12–14. Stop by and see how it’s helping build the technical foundation behind a ready, interoperable joint force.
