Please join us in congratulating Ryan Gibson on receiving the Employee-Owner of the Quarter (EOQ) award! The EOQ award recognizes and shows appreciation to an employee-owner who demonstrated exceptional performance over the previous quarter. Ryan is recognized for his work in supporting significant projects, mentoring new hires, and displaying leadership. We are proud to present Ryan with the Q3 2023 award.

According to Randy Brooks, Ryan’s manager, “Ryan is the driving force in our team. In the last quarter, he gave up many hours of his personal time to meet delivery requirements. He is self-driven and constantly looks for ways to improve production and organize efforts across the team. Ryan is mission essential and I look forward to continuing to work with him at ONEIL.”

Ryan was hired in 2015 and has shown continued growth as he was promoted to Lead Technical Writer in 2022. Over the course of the last 8 years, he has proven to work with purpose and focus, continuously striving to complete projects with the highest quality as well as providing deliverables prior to their due date. Ryan’s proven work ethic consistently contributes to ONEIL’s bottom line.

Ryan continues to present himself with composure and versatility while having a reputation for delivering quality work. These are all attributes one looks for in a leader, which Ryan has proven to be.

Briefly share your career trajectory and what originally brought you to ONEIL.
In 2015 after completing my bachelor’s degree, I had decided it was time for a career change. I had been working at the same place for a little over 10 years and had no more room for advancement. I stumbled across an open position on a job board online for a technical writer at ONEIL and applied given my mechanical background. I came in for the interview and was later offered a position by Chuck Sasser in March of 2015 as a technical writer for Siemens rail projects. I liked what ONEIL had to offer as far as the job description, benefits, culture, and work environment so I accepted the technical writer position.

What do you enjoy most about your work at ONEIL?
I enjoy supporting different projects at ONEIL. Many of the projects I’m involved with are for new technology and products that customers require product support for such as maintenance and operator manuals. I like the challenge of learning about new products on the market as this keeps the work exciting and constantly changing so you’re not stuck in the same daily routine.

What motivates you to go above and beyond in your role?
I’m motivated by the desire to succeed and have successful projects. Successful projects are beneficial to ONEIL because they not only make the customer happy, but they can also lead to repeat work from the same customer. I enjoy the day-to-day challenges in my role as a Lead Technical Writer and working with fellow co-workers to solve these challenges.

Ryan’s work ethic, leadership, and commitment to quality make us proud to have him on our team, and we look forward to even more of his outstanding contributions in the future.
