Sr. Technical Writer – Satellite, Radar, or Electronics Communications Experience
For 70 years, O’Neil & Associates has specialized in the preparation of technical publications for widely diverse customers. We continue to expand and develop our technical writing, technical illustrating, provisioning, and information engineering staff and processes. In addition, we have embraced and refined rapidly evolving publishing technologies to manage and distribute information.
Today, O’Neil & Associates is in a position of leadership as a developer of product support information. We serve customers worldwide from our corporate headquarters building in Miamisburg, Ohio. To maximize customer service, we also have staff located near various customers’ sites, including Palm Bay, Florida; Sacramento, California; Fairview, Oregon; Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The Technical Writer will work closely with experienced writers and other staff, taking complex technical information and translating it into an easily understandable format, based upon customer guidelines. In addition, the selected individual will act as an on-site liaison, working with the customer to gather data and perform other duties as required. The selected individual may also be required to provide training to ONEIL’s customers, on Satellite Communication (SATCOM) terminals at various locations worldwide.
This role is a mix of on-site liaison, technical writing, and training. Experience in SATCOM, radar, or other communication systems is preferred. Individual should possess communication-electronics maintenance experience and be capable of interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams, as well as a solid understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) development and transmission. Must be able to build a rapport with the customer. Previous experience as an instructor is a plus.
- 90% – Technical Writing – Take technical information received from our customer and translate it into written format, per our customers guidelines
- 5% – Training – Provide on-terminal training at our customer’s facility
- 5% – Travel to customer locations
- A current Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one, through the Department of Defense (DoD) is required
