Senior Cataloger

Locations: Miamisburg, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Cataloger participates in the provisioning process of spare parts and the production development of Repair Parts & Special Tool List (RPSTL) and Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) manuals to ensure they are compliant with customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collects and compiles information used for part provisioning and spare part catalogs
  • Obtains and interprets information from engineering drawings, indentured bill of materials, engineering change notices, engineering change proposals, engineering orders, etc.
  • Interfaces with equipment’s commercial vendors to request and obtain required information
  • Reviews illustrations and drawings for part identification, location, and function
  • Screens part numbers for national stock numbers
  • Reviews work package and artwork for technical accuracy
  • Travels as needed to client and/or Government facilities to compile information needed to develop work packages
  • Attends job-related conferences to ensure documentation meets specifications and contractual requirements
  • Tracks project status through various means and communicates this to project/program leads
  • Coordinates the production of RPSTL and IPB manuals to ensure they comply with required specifications
  • Interfaces with clients and Government representatives during length of project, as required
  • Establishes a rapport with clients and Government representatives who can potentially lead to increase in sales
  • Assists Lead Cataloger with customer satisfaction and follow up, as needed
  • Assists in training entry-level associates
  • Provides informational research needed for quotes and proposals
  • Works with internal and external staff to provide required information for proposals and quotes
  • Performs any other job-related instructions, as requested with reasonable accommodation

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • General office environment; required to use office equipment (personal computer, telephone/smartphone, photocopier); required to sit/stand for long periods of time
  • May be required to complete tasks in garage, shop, or an outside environment on, a limited basis
  • May be required (on short notice) to work overtime/additional hours to meet deadlines; may occasionally require weekend and/or working holidays, as needed
  • May be required to travel by motor vehicle and/or airplane to complete job requirements; estimated to be less than 10 percent

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

· High school diploma or General Equivalency Education (GED) is required

· Associate or Bachelor of Science (BS) or Arts (BA) degree in technical or mechanical field or equivalent work experience is required

Experience:

· Minimum of four (4) years of experience preparing and compiling parts lists and source materials used to develop draft work packages used for text and art illustrations is required

· Military-equivalent experience in maintenance or parts related field is preferred

  • Previous experience coordinating the writing of complete, complex technical documents, including the design and organization of technical documents with customers, as well as coordinating other internal and external personnel is required

Technical Experience:

· Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access is required

· Intermediate proficiency level with Adobe Acrobat (PDF) is required

· Previous experience using provisioning software such as SLIC, SLICwave, PowerLog, etc., is required

· Previous experience using computers and networks to store files on a network, using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred

Certification / Licensure:

  • Valid driver’s license in state of residency with acceptable driving record is preferred
  • May be required to obtain a Government/military common access card to work on assigned contracts and/or projects

· Extensive knowledge of provisioning requirements and specifications

· Knowledgeable in field to skillfully perform assigned tasks

· Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill at performing job responsibilities

· Ability to be self-directed, be resourceful, and demonstrate creativity to meet job objectives and propose innovative ideas

· Ability to be cost-effective in completing assigned tasks accurately and within established guidelines and timeframes/schedules

· Ability to follow established company policies and procedures and customer guidelines

· Ability to complete assignments on time, which may require overtime to meet deadlines

· Ability to follow through on assignments and maintain a high level of integrity

· Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external personnel according to company guidelines and to communicate project status to internal and external personnel

· Ability to work proactively and efficiently to fulfill job responsibilities

· Ability to work independently and within a team to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines
