CAD Tools
Our customers use a diverse range of design systems, so our technical illustrators are accustomed to using a variety of engineering files and source materials. ONEIL handles solid models and engineering design data with the speed and accuracy that stems from our broad experience.
Accurate and Efficient
For accuracy and efficiency, we prefer creating illustrations by working first-hand with your product. And if your product can’t come to us, we’ll come to it. Our illustrators often visit customer sites to prepare sketches, photographs, and final artwork. Our technical illustrators can use any computer-aided drawing software needed to get the job done. We work with CAD from Solidworks, Unigraphics, CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER, AutoCAD and others.
ONEIL uses several post-CAD and visualization tools to optimize data:
- CadProcess 4
- Teamcenter Visualization Mockup
- Teamcenter Visualization Pro Plus
- Pro/E ProductView
Reduce or Eliminate Redundancy
These applications allow us to use STEP, IGES, and VRML files from any major CAD application to create illustrations using the geometric data that is already drawn. That reduces or eliminates redundancy and lets us pass the savings along to our clients.
Data Security
The security of engineering data is a concern to all of our clients. It is also a vital concern to ONEIL that your data is protected. We use the best security tools and systems available to protect all of your information. Model files are stored on our network under a rigid, rights-protected file structure and behind the strongest firewalls and security protocols possible. In addition, ONEIL is ISO 9001:2008 certified, which ensures that our processes are strictly documented and followed.
When we create technical illustrations, the part geometry and reference information are usually all that we need. Most engineering data, such as tool passes and stress analysis, are unnecessary. When possible, we use the nomenclature, quantity, next higher assemblies (NHAs), and part numbers from the metadata resident within the CAD files. That's it.
Enhance Quality, Save Time and Money
Re-using CAD data results in great cost and time savings, and enhances quality. Why pay for a drawing that's already been drawn? In our experience, the challenge in preparing product support information from CAD data is that many items are missing in the CAD model. Manufacturers may not include breakdowns of vendor components in their models. Many do not draw belts, hoses, or wires. Because we have a great tool set and highly skilled technical illustrators, we can fill these gaps by drawing the missing parts and merging the components when available.
The key to success is having the best tools and a talented, experienced staff. At ONEIL, we are proud to have both.
