Parts Manuals
A parts manual, also called an illustrated parts breakdown (IPB) or illustrated parts catalog (IPC), contains all the parts for a particular unit or system. Developing paper, CD/DVD, or web-based parts manuals and their associated documentation requires knowledge and experience. Understanding how to handle various model configurations, options, accessories, and illustration formats are just a few of the factors to be considered. Tapping into the experience of our catalogers will make those decisions easier.
If your company is preparing to deliver your newest products or systems to government agencies or commercial customers, you need accurate parts publications and realistic spare parts forecasts based on the cost of components and failure rates. And you may need to provide data and documentation to the government for their provisioning requirements.
Clear and easy-to-follow technical illustrations play an important role in your product support literature, including the parts manual. Intelligent graphics are used in our parts manuals. They carry the parts identification metadata from the engineering file through the illustration into the parts list.
These are an extension of our half century of creating exploded-view parts illustrations, maintenance/repair illustrations, operation illustrations, cutaways and phantom views, schematic diagrams, photo to line art conversions, wiring diagrams, and color renderings.
The parts identification information that is embedded in the graphic makes tracking and changing parts information quick and easy. It also makes quality control faster and more efficient.
