A technical and validation review is performed at ONEIL's Annex.Verification and Validation

Because our goal is to provide you with the best written and illustrated product support documentation, a verification and validation phase is built into our service. We ensure that our documentation is accurate and reliable, so you can be confident that when you use it or send it with your product, that it provides the easiest, safest, and most complete information available.

Evaluate Accuracy and Completeness

Verification and validation evaluates the accuracy and completeness of operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures. The procedures are evaluated by actual performance on the equipment or by simulation. Simulation will be used only for tasks that may cause equipment damage or cause undue safety hazards. Tasks requiring simulation will be agreed to and coordinated with the client. Validation of the Point-to-Point circuit diagrams will be completed with a technical review of the unit and the engineering drawings.

Verification and validation includes preventive maintenance checks and services, troubleshooting, inspection, servicing, testing, adjustment, replacement, disassembly, assembly and repair procedures.

Specifically, verification and validation will evaluate the following about the documentation:

  • Operation and maintenance instructions are correct and complete
  • Initial setup and follow-on information for relevant tasks is available and thorough
  • Technical information is reliable
  • Illustrations are instructive and support the text
  • References cited are confirmed
  • Hyperlinks are functioning and precise
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures are methodical and fully developed
  • Format and content are in accordance with specifications and standards

Verification and validation is performed to confirm the following about the equipment:

  • Operability and/or maintainability of the equipment and its components
  • Repair parts, special tools, and test equipment required to perform specific procedures are correct
  • Safety of the procedures
  • Maximum use of regular tools and TMDE (test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment), and minimum use of special tools
  • Tasks are performed at optimal efficiency
  • Task and skill requirements for operator and maintenance personnel are applied by level of skill
  • Time standards and manpower requirements for maintenance functions

When necessary, the verification and validation process will also include a review of:

  • Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC)
  • Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS)
  • Components of End Item (COEI)
  • Basic Issue Items (BII)
  • Additional Authorized List (AAL)
