Technical Writing Simplified

ONEIL’s Technical Writing Group writes step-by-step instructions on how to operate, maintain, and repair vehicles, aircraft, support equipment, and appliances. The Technical Illustrating Group creates the illustrations and animations that accompany these procedures. The Provisioning Group determines disassembly order and parts lists for these manuals. From our early days of documenting machine tools to our current interactive technical manuals on the web, our technical writers can handle diversity.

Our project manager will consult with you to ensure that your project is carried out exactly as you want.

Hands On Experience

It's a good combination: hands-on technical experience and communication excellence. It's what successfully produces millions of words and thousands of pages by our seasoned writers each year. ONEIL’s technical writers offer a proven ability to turn complex subjects into easily understood instructions for users with varied skill levels and educational backgrounds. ONEIL’s writers are adept at developing accurate, detailed, and thoroughly researched information to support your products.

Technical Writing

ONEIL technical writers are, first of all, technicians with a broad background that comes from serving customers in many industries and technologies. We author documentation for software and hardware. And, when we say hardware, we mean hardware -- trains, boats, and planes, trucks and construction equipment, engine generator sets and power distribution systems, factory automation, and medical equipment. Individual projects can range from a few pages to thousands of pages.

Our goal is to produce and deliver world-class documentation -- on time and in a cost-effective manner. How do we do it? Our writers are not just writers, they have outstanding technical and communication skills. At ONEIL, we do everything possible in-house in order to learn your product support needs inside and out.

Project Management

You get one person to meet with about your project and who is responsible for its outcome. Your project manager (PM) is detail oriented and experienced, so he or she will be able to suggest things you may not have thought of. Your PM may ask our in-house experts to examine your product and documentation to recommend the best course of action. You and your team can participate in regularly scheduled project status updates. Your PM will keep you and your team informed of your project's progress and make sure we are on track with your expectations.

Technical Illustrating

Each year, we produce tens of thousands of graphics, animations, models, and diagrams.  Our current capabilities include intrusive diagnostics, which are integrated with our IETMs, as well as point-to-point schematics. Our award-winning technical illustrators routinely produce all types of technical illustrations, including: animations for use with training, IETMs, interactive schematics (also known as "point-to-point), and intelligent graphics that carry parts identification metadata from the engineering file through the illustration into the parts list.

Parts Cataloging and Provisioning

The ONEIL Parts Cataloging and Provisioning Group has successfully supported over 300 manufacturers of all sizes. They have experienced the strengths and weaknesses of the different methods these companies employ. The lessons learned from each new situation are applied to subsequent projects, to ensure the most effective and comprehensive program for all of our clients. ONEIL has developed its own software to help produce various commercial and military documents. By continually updating our software and mastering the latest equipment, our personnel are able to anticipate client provisioning requirements better.
