Visuals Add Value

Clear, easy-to-follow technical illustrations play a critical role in your product support materials. Today's audience typically looks first to the illustration, then to the text. An accurate technical illustration provides a clear representation of the product which reduces critical repair times and costs. The illustrators at ONEIL work with technical writers and parts catalogers to achieve accuracy and consistency between the visual and narrative stories - whether in a stand-alone document or across many volumes of a manual set.

The inverse is a poor legacy format that doesn’t match what the technician sees right in front them. If the drawing doesn’t match their particular variant, was reused incorrectly, has an illegible callout, or worse - costs begin to rise for your customer and service personnel. We can take a wide range of source materials and use the best tools from our extensive software expertise to produce the visual you require.

Technology and Next Level Visualizations

We helped pioneer the infusion of computer technology in the field of product support. We embrace new advancements when they help us provide better quality products or faster results. If such software doesn't, exist we build it ourselves. One of our customers had so much illustration volume that we created a custom art Content Management System to manage art requests, import art files, track board numbers, manage check out/check-ins, add hot spotting, and output various formats to paper and web.

Often we can extract technical data from engineering systems or drawing/model metadata to enhance interactivity on electronic mediums such as IETMs, client applications, and websites. This empowers end users to engage with the product material much more so than with a traditional manual. With a single click, a user can order a part, jump to troubleshooting procedures, reference a disassembly animation, or view an interactive wiring diagram or anything relevant to their current task.
