Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift of America currently utilizes a Learning Content Management System (LCMS). For this project, we developed the content for many courses, plus we imported all legacy courses into our LCMS which they purchased as an Application Service Provider. There are currently approximately 200 dealers with 5,000 to 6,000 service technicians that require training. This training needs to be able to be delivered to the users via the Internet through a common Web browser. The solution is based on a Sharable Content Object Reference Model 1.1 (SCORM) and Aviation Industry CBT Committee (AICC) compliant CMS/LCMS solution. By supporting these two standards, our LCMS provided the ability to produce reusable content. Multiple resources can be combined from several sources to create new resources. This foundation allows users of the O'Neil LCMS to better leverage their investment while the content of the courses evolve with the subject.
We were also awarded the contract to develop 14 courses on the operations and maintenance of their products. We designed, wrote, illustrated, animated, tested, and implemented the content. These courses are directed at the training of the dealers across the country. We are also responsible for any modifications of the legacy courses as well as the translations that are planed in the very near future.
