Mobilized Systems, Inc.
Mobilized Systems, Inc. (MSI) builds a Mission Command Element (MCE) shelter with ECU and PDU pallets and a Launch and Recovery Element (LRE) shelter that also includes an ECU support pallet. Both are used as ground support equipment for the Global Hawk UAV. MSI sells the shelters to Raytheon, Falls Church, VA, who populates the interior of each shelter with equipment, then delivers them to Northrop Grumman for delivery to the U.S. Air Force. Typically, the MCE is stationed at a California base and the LREs are deployed overseas.
We were contacted in August of 2003 after their initial submittal was rejected by the U.S. Air Force for being insufficient in coverage. They requested we provide a quote for a commercial manual done to MIL-HDBK-1221 for each shelter. The final manuals, with digital photographs, ended up being quasi Mil-Spec Operation and Maintenance Instructions with an IPB for Organizational Level Maintenance. To support this concept for each shelter, we developed a Master Parts List of all items which was coordinated with MSI. We then extracted a Recommended Spares List which MSI delivered to RFC-NGC-AF for their review and approval. This information was used to develop the IPB.
O'Neil has been working with MSI since 2001, and we have delivered four projects to date with several others currently in process.
