TQS
O'Neil has teamed with TQS to produce complete Structural Repair Tasks at Hill AFB for the A-10 Engineering Group. These tasks can either be inserted into the existing Field Level Structural Manual, used in-house, or sent to 'qualified' depots for one-time structural repairs.
As a demonstration of our capabilities, Hill AFB tasked us to write the draft CET, a draft Writer's Guide, then develop and deliver three complete tasks. The final Task was delivered in mid March to TQS. Final delivery for each task included the original Word file with figures embedded, a Word RTF file without the figures, each figure in CGM format, and a PDF of the complete Task.
We received draft materials and engineering drawings from our technical POC and worked on-site (two three-day trips) to attend meetings, take photographs, and complete the required research. Draft review copies were sent as PDFs for review by TQS, the Hill AFB Engineer, and the Equipment Specialist, and they returned electronic red-line review comments. This proved to be an efficient and cost-effective way to exchange information.
We are currently trying to get funding to extend the program to develop an additional 50 tasks and a complete the Writer's Guide. The period of performance will be an additional 9–12 months, once started. Other publication tasks for the A-10 are also being discussed to cover structure, flight controls, and avionics. This also holds true for some of the other aircraft Hill AFB does depot work on.
