Happy 240th Birthday USA!

We at ONEIL wish all of our employee-owners, clients and vendors a happy and safe 4th of July.

Our "Helping Hands" committee organizes fund-raising events to assist those in need in our community. For example, each year we "adopt" many local families to ensure that Santa pays a visit at Christmas. Another popular fund-raising event is our annual company golf scramble. Congrats to the 2016 winners, who were certainly dressed appropriately as the 4th neared:

Industry Marvels Spotlight

If you missed our Industry Marvels videos on the Fox Business Network last week, we're excited to be able to show it to you here:

This video briefly shows what makes O'Neil & Associates an American "Industry Marvel." For more details about ONEIL and our offerings, please check out the rest of our newly redesigned website at www.oneil.com.

We want to thank our clients and neighbors for their enthusiasm and support last week! ONEIL is proud to represent the Miamisburg region at the national level.

Our Upcoming Industry Marvels Spotlight

ONEIL was recently invited to be spotlighted on an Industry Marvels segment, which will air twice this week on the Fox Business Network. The segment will run during the Strange Inheritance program.

This video segment offers a great look at ONEIL's employee-owners actually in the process of serving our customers. We are pleased with how the Industry Marvels team was able to provide a concise introduction to how ONEIL helps our industry-leading clients by creating, updating, and delivering the best-in-class product support information when and where it is needed.

Please be sure to tune-in to the Fox Business Network between 9:30 and 9:44 PM this Tuesday, February 2nd, or Thursday, February 4th, to catch the video. If you miss it, you'll be able to watch it here on our website after the first airing. Check it out!

Starting Off the Year Right!

Thanks to all who made 2015 another great year for our employee owned company!

We make it a point to always keep our customers as the primary focus of our efforts. Certainly, we have no plans to change that, but we have made a commitment within our company to make sure we mind the store when it comes to our own initiatives as well. We have some of the most talented folks in our market space, yet without proper emphasis, it is easy to fall into the mode of "the cobbler's children never having shoes." In the last few months, and over the last year, we have made a concerted effort to fine tune and place a laser focus on our message, while opening the right channels to convey it to the right place, at the right time, and in the right way ... which is ultimately our vision.

This initiative has included updated collateral materials like brochures, videos, demos, and the crown jewel: the rollout of this state-of-the-art website, which is living, adaptive, targeted, easy to use, and most importantly sustainable, just like the technology solution we offer. We invite you to give it a test drive and offer any feedback that you have.

We wish you all a wonderful 2016, and we look forward to working with you.

ONEIL Open House

Thanks to all that attended our recent open house event. The turnout of friends, customers, prospective customers, local politicians, suppliers, and family was pretty awesome. We have always tried to promote a sense of ownership here at ONEIL but now we really all are owners, and that fact shone brightly on everyone in attendance. Suffice it to say I was VERY proud of our team and grateful for the many positive interactions. Our team offered top notch DEMOs on our content management tools, intelligent schematics, diagnostics, and our software development processes, as well as, an up close look at some of the equipment we are developing manuals for in the DoD, Commercial, and Aerospace domains.

Below is a link to a newsletter article about the open house...check it out!

O'Neil & Associates Becomes Employee-owned

By Dave Larsen

Staff Writer - Dayton Daily News

Miamisburg-based O'Neil & Associates Inc. has become a 100 percent employee-owned company through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, company officials announced Friday.

Founded in 1947 as a mechanical design engineering company, O'Neil supplies electronic, web-based and traditional paper technical training manuals for commercial and government markets.

In 2004, O'Neil implemented a multi-phased plan to become an ESOP company, officials said.

"Becoming 100-percent employee-owned was the next logical step in our business development. Our employees' dedication to serving our customers has always driven our success. They've always owned their work; now everyone actually owns the company, too," said Bob Heilman, O'Neil's president and chief executive, in a statement.

Headquartered in Miamisburg, O'Neil also has facilities in Wisconsin, Michigan and Texas.

Heilman said there was skepticism at first by employees.

"I have heard a lot of good feedback from the employees I've spoken to. I think it was the correct thing to do," Heilman said.

O'Neil is the second area company to become employee-owned in recent months. In December, Eaton-based Henny Penny announced it had become employee-owned through an ESOP.

An ESOP is an employee benefit plan that provides workers with an ownership interest in a company. There are about 10,000 ESOPs in place in the U.S., covering 10.3 million employees, according to the Washington D.C.-based ESOP Association.
